Order
As soon as we have received your payment, we will immediately begin working on your order.
Based on your kitchen measurements, we will work out the best way to fit your splashback into your kitchen.
In the section: 'extra information' on your online delivery form, you can let us know any other
details that we should take into account when designing your splashback.
Within five working days from receipt of your order (and payment),
you will receive an email with a preliminary design of your splashback in the right proportions.
After receiving this email, you will have the opportunity to indicate any corrections or improvements.
Once we have received your approval, the splashback will be delivered to the stated
address within three to four weeks.
Material
PimpYourKitchen splashbacks are made out of a high-quality latex-based paper printed with pigmented ink.
This paper is laminated on one side. The laminate contains a UV-filter.
Our splashbacks have a thickness of approximately 0,5 mm and can easily be cut in case of sockets or switches on the back wall.
Fire safety
Every PimpYourKitchen splashback is self-extinguishing (flame spread classification class A, based on ASTM E84 method).
Cleaning
You can clean your splashback with a soft cloth with multi-purpose cleaner or soap.
Do not use the following substances when cleaning your splashback: solvents,
degreasing agents, bleaching agents, resin removers, abrasive cleaners.
Installation
The surface, to which you wish to attach your splashback, should be solid, dry, and free from dust and grease. Irregularities on the surface will be visible on the splashback. You can attach the splashback to the surface with adhesive for (extra) heavy-weight wallpaper. Manufacturer Solvite has a variety of adhesives for different surfaces. The adhesives we recommend are:

For hanging all luxury and heavyweight wall coverings. Ideal for high
temperature and humidity variations such as in kitchens, and behind
radiators or around chimney breasts Improved formulation. Easy slide

polymers for extra strength. Available in 1kg tub and 2.5kg, 4.5kg and
10kg buckets.
SOLVITE KITCHEN & BATHROOM READY MIXED ADHESIVE:
Ready to use and specially formulated for hanging wall-covering in areas
subjected to higher than normal temperature and humidity, such as kitchens
and bathrooms. Is ideal for hanging wall-coverings on porous and non-porous
surfaces. Is also suitable for use with tile on a roll wallpapers. Mould resistant
formula. Available in 5 roll (4.5kg) bucket.
When working with highly absorbent surfaces, we recommend pre-treating the surface with diluted wall-paper adhesive (add 20% water).

With every PimpYourKitchen splashback we deliver a piece of blanc paper. If you are not sure that the splashback will stick properly to the surface, we recommend you doing a test with this piece of paper first.

Using your own images?
It is also possible to send us your own image(s) if you'd like for us to turn them into a kitchen splashback. Due to the specific dimensions of most splashbacks (panoramic view), we do have some guidelines to keep in mind when sending in your images.

Recommendations
We recommend applying silicon sealant to the edges of your splashback after installation, to prevent moisture from getting behind it.
Experience taught us that the splashback can manage itself behind a gas hob. However it still is a plastic/synthetic material and some caution is advised when placed behind a gas hob.
You should make sure the heat doesn't build up excessively and that hot pans and flames can't reach the splashback.
We have the splashback behind gas hobs ourselves, for 3,5 and 1 years now, without any problems whatsoever.
To protect the splashback from the gas cooker, there are backboardsavers available at your local kitchen supplier.
